Ingredients
  

  • For the Pizza Dough:
  • 2 ¼ tsp 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F/45°C
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • For the Pizza Sauce:
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • For the Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or vegan cheese
  • ½ cup sliced bell peppers red, green, yellow
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • ½ cup mushrooms sliced
  • ¼ cup black olives sliced
  • ¼ cup red onion thinly sliced
  • ½ cup spinach or arugula
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for drizzling

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, olive oil, salt, and sugar. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour (until doubled in size).
  • Make the Sauce:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Assemble the Pizza:
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Add bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, red onion, and spinach.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano and red pepper flakes.
  • Bake the Pizza:
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Slice and serve hot!
