Neapolitan Ice Cream – Classic Three-Flavor Delight

Ingredients
  

  • Vanilla Ice Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Chocolate Ice Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Strawberry Ice Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries pureed
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare Vanilla Ice Cream Base
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until sugar dissolves.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Once thickened, transfer to one section of a loaf pan and cover with plastic wrap.
  • Step 2: Prepare Chocolate Ice Cream Base
  • In another mixing bowl, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour into the ice cream maker and churn until thick and creamy.
  • Add the chocolate ice cream next to the vanilla in the loaf pan and cover.
  • Step 3: Prepare Strawberry Ice Cream Base
  • Puree fresh strawberries with lemon juice in a blender until smooth.
  • In a bowl, mix the strawberry puree with milk, cream, sugar, and salt until combined.
  • Churn in the ice cream maker until it reaches a creamy consistency.
  • Add to the remaining space in the loaf pan and cover.
  • Step 4: Freeze and Serve
  • Smooth the top of the ice cream layers with a spatula.
  • Cover the entire pan with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  • To serve, scoop across all three flavors for the perfect Neapolitan experience!

Notes

For a richer texture, substitute half-and-half for whole milk.
Use high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor.
Fresh strawberries provide the best taste, but frozen can be used if thawed and drained.
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, place the mixtures in the freezer, stirring every 30 minutes until firm.
